The first person to die from a new type of coronavirus in the United States has been infected with Omicron. Texas health officials said Monday.

In the week before December 11, 12.6 percent of the victims were Omicron and 8 percent were Delta variants. On December 13, a new strain of the coronavirus, Omicron, became the first person to die in the United Kingdom. At the time, Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed the information.
