“One thing we’ve learnt through Covid is rugby in this piece of the world isn’t manageable,” 58-year-old Fitzpatrick revealed to The Times.

“It needs to change. What we are seeing universally is that the worldwide game is OK, yet we need rivalries other than global rugby that produce pay.

“We need to ensure we have a club window with no global games by any stretch of the imagination, which will include playing less internationals.

“Until we get a club window where we can get every one of our internationals on the field it’s anything but an appealing item,” he added.

Fitzpatrick won the debut Rugby World Cup in 1987 and upholds the possibility of a homegrown same.

“I figure the rivalries may change over the long haul.” Fitzpatrick said.

“The manner in which game is burned-through and the manner in which we draw in with content is not quite the same as in the past.

“Silver Lake and CVC have the ability to take advantage of the computerized side of the game to make a fanbase which will improve the item. They likewise realize how to adapt the brand.”
